Hear what industry professionals have to say about the status of the Dive Industry. Get a glimpse into the lives of some of the luminaries in the world of diving such as Zale Perry, Bev Morgan, Stan Waterman, and Anatoly Segelevich, the man who piloted the Mir II Submersible to film the Titanic.

DIVE IN to DEMA

Take a trip with the Dive In crew to the largest trade event in the world for companies doing business in the scuba diving, ocean sports and adventure/dive travel industries. DEMA Show 2005 took place October 4 – 7 in Las Vegas. In 2006 the DEMA Show took place November 8 – 11 in Orlando, FL. The DEMA Show is a trade event open only to industry professionals and is produced by the Diving Equipment & Marketing Association (DEMA), and managed on its behalf by National Trade Productions, Inc. Bev Morgan

From a humble beginning as a lifeguard, Bev Morgan became the founder of Diving Systems International, the world's largest manufacturer of commercial dive gear. Along the way he helped originate the first dive training programs in the U.S. and started the company that became the multi-million grossing wetsuit conglomerate Body Glove. Honored by DEMA as one of its first inductees into diving's Hall of Fame, Morgan remains an intensely private man who has shunned the limelight in spite of his considerable successes. AMOS NACHOUM

Amos Nachoum has led National Geographic expedition teams with Dr. Eugenie Clark, Dr. Sylvia Earle, astronaut Buzz Aldrin, and has co-produced documentaries with Stan Waterman. Mr. Nachoum’s photos and essays have appeared in more than 500 publications in North America, Europe, and Japan, including National Geographic magazine, Ocean Realm, Island, Outside, Rodale’s Scuba Diving, Time, Life, and The New York Times. He has been profiled in television appearances on National Geographic Explorer (Sept. ’97), the Today Show, and Good Morning America, as well as in People, Esquire, and Money magazines. NEAL WATSON

A dive industry leader and one of the original pioneers of scuba diving, Neal Watson has worked as a commercial diver, dive instructor, treasure salver and underwater stuntman. With more than forty-five years experience, Neal, who is known as the “Dive God,” has appeared in major motion pictures and on television as well as in magazines. He holds several Guinness World Records including the compressed-air diving depth record (437 feet) and the underwater distance record (66 miles non-stop underwater without surfacing). STAN WATERMAN

Winner of five Emmy awards for his work in television, Waterman is also renowned for his work in commercial film, as director and producer of underwater film and photography. GUY HARVEY

Guy Harvey is a unique blend of artist, scientist, diver, angler, conservationist and explorer, fiercely devoted to his family and his love of the sea. Growing up in Jamaica, Guy spent many hours fishing and diving with his father along the Island's south coast. He was obsessed with the creatures of the sea and began drawing pictures of the many different fish he observed. LENGTH: 2:10 Minutes

ROBERT WYLAND

Robert Wyland (b. 1956 in Detroit, Michigan), known simply as Wyland, is an artist best known for painting large, outdoor murals of whales and other ocean life. He has a goal of painting one hundred Whaling Walls by 2011. LENGTH: 2:04 Minutes

SUSAN LONG

President and CEO of DUI, Susan Long has been Chief Operating Officer since March, 2001 managing all aspects of the company including sales, marketing and production. Having started with DUI building wetsuits at age 15, she left DUI and worked for Marriott Hotels and Resorts as Director of Catering. She then traveled to Roatan, Honduras where she was General Manager of Half Moon Bay Cabins. Wanting to return to civilization and to DUI, she came back in 1995 working primarily in sales and marketing prior to becoming COO. LENGTH: 5:23 Minutes

ZALE PARRY

As a young woman, Zale Parry became involved in pioneering diving and scientific work. Zale started diving in the 1940s as a young girl. In 1953 she became a tester of underwater equipment for Scientific Underwater Research Enterprises. Later, she and her partner designed, built, and marketed the first civilian hyperbaric chamber for divers. They were evangelists for the purchase of hyperbaric around the world to provide lifesaving facilities for divers suffering from "the bends". LENGTH: 2:04 Minutes

LESLIE LEANEY

A diver since 1969, Leslie was a diving officer for BSAC Special Branch in Singapore, a co-founder of the Historical Diving Society-U.S.A. and founder of Historical Diver Magazine. His articles on diving history are published world-wide. Leslie is a consultant on diving history and has lectured extensively on the subject. He is past president of the American Historical Diving Society, Editor of Historical Diving Magazine, a Director of the Academy of Underwater Arts and Sciences, an honorary lifetime member of the Historical Diving Society and a Trustee and Advisory Board Member of Santa Barbara Maritime Museum. BOB HOLLIS

More than 25 years ago, Bob Hollis and a partner started a company known as Oceanic. They made camera housings, strobes, strobe housings and various U/W photo accessories, for a budding industry. The company known as Oceanic is aptly named: it is the result of one man’s love of the sea. LENGTH:

TOM INGRAM

Tom Ingram has more than twenty-five years experience working in diving education and marketing, and currently serves as Executive Director of the Diving Equipment and Marketing Association. He was first employed by Barry University in Miami, Florida. As a faculty member and department head, Ingram developed, implemented and ran the first four-year degree program directly connected to the recreational diving industry. Ingram holds a Masters degree in Marketing and Management. He has also served as instructor trainer and course director for both NAUI and PADI. LENGTH:
